Outfit #77: A Witch and her Familiar

Kimono: Gypsy Warrior (Sold out, see similar)  // Black Maxi Dress: Thrifted (Similar) // Black Booties: Steve Madden (Similar) // Black Leather Cincher: Minty Jungle (Here) // Black Wide Brim Hat: Thrifted (Similar) // Big Rock Ring: Forever 21 (Sold out, similar) // Tattoo Choker: eBay (Here) // Crystal Necklace: Ruby // Round Sunglasses: eBay (Similar)

It took me a little while to be ready to post these OOTDs. If you follow me on any of my social media, you know I lost my constant companion Sushi a couple of weeks ago to a brutal attack by a husky as we were minding our own business and walking down the sidewalk. This is the final OOTD we took together - two days before she left me. It's been a really difficult couple of weeks but thanks to amazingly supportive friends and family and my new puppy Mochi, I'm slowly healing. I'll make a blog entry about the entire incident when I'm ready, but for now: I miss you, Sushi. I love you always.

Outfit #76: Sailor Galaxy

Space Seifuku: DIY (Similar) // Shoes: Litas by Jeffrey Campbell (Similar) // Tights: Urban Outfitters (Similar)

When I was very young - perhaps 11 or 12 - I wrote an epic fanfiction in one of my spiral bound notebooks. It was all about the adventures of a young, homeless girl who was down on her luck. She was outside in the rain on a park bench when who should encounter her? Why, Usagi from Sailor Moon, of course! Usagi took in the girl and eventually after a number of events the girl learned she was the ULTIMATE Sailor Scout - Sailor Galaxy!

Initially I made this seifuku (with so much help from my dear friend Chelsea) for my 25th birthday party. But when I threw my bff Claire Max a birthday party this year that was space themed, I brought it out again. I like the way I styled it here much better, anyway! Now I just want to make about five thousand seifukus in different prints and wear them every single day...

We had Claire's birthday party at Good Times at Davey Wayne's, which is one of my favorite bars here in Los Angeles. It is a speak easy that you enter through a refrigerator that is out front in a yard sale, and once you're in you're transported to a 70s house party. Last time I was there they played the entire Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack (I subsequently shrieked and danced my ass off)!! If you're in LA you HAVE to check it out.

Did you guys ever make up your own Sailor Scouts?

Outfit #75: SDCC

Dress: H&M (similar) // Shoes: eBay (Similar) // Socks: Drugstore (Similar) // Crystal Necklace: H&M (Similar)

*peeks cautiously from behind bushes* Oh... h-hello there! It's me, Molly! Y'know, the Geeky Peacock! I hope you haven't forgotten about me, because I haven't forgotten about you! I just got really, really busy with that whole "moving to LA" thing, and then the whole "making new friends" thing, and then "San Diego Comic-con" and "Gen-con" things... basically, it's been a whole lot of madness! But I'm still here, I'm still alive, and blogging is going to begin again now that I feel more settled in my new city!

These are the only OOTDs I took at San Diego Comic-con. Why? I truly have no idea, I had some cute outfits. I think I was just drinking way too much vodka to function on a normal level.

AHHH I MISSED YOU GUYS!!!

I've been so bad at posting backlogged outfit pics! First I had Emerald City Comic-con and now I've been working on moving to Los Angeles in May! Which means I've been selling EVERYTHING I own and madly applying for jobs. It's all happening so quickly and it's so exciting!

Now that I quit my day job (oh thank goodness - but that's a story for another time) I finally have time to go through all of my back logged outfits! If you follow me on Instagram you'll know I dyed my hair purple, so only a few more outfit posts with red hair!

These are from my trip to Portland with Steve a few weeks ago. He was hosting a burlesque show and we just needed to get away from Seattle for a bit. It was brief but super fun! Obviously the best part of visiting Portland is ALWAYS what's in the pink box...

There's just something about babydoll dresses and chunky thigh high socks. It's the best part of 90s fashion and I will never stop wearing it!

I have lots of stuff to talk about - like my birthday party and doing pin up modeling this weekend! - but it will wait for more specific blog posts. For now, I leave you with this outfit. My birthday is tomorrow - I'm going to be 25!! AHHH!

Modcloth Polyvore Outfit Challenge!

Modcloth Lead by Example Challenge!

One of my all time favorite clothing websites - Modcloth - approached me last week and asked me if I would be interested in creating a Polyvore outfit featuring their products. Of course I'm interested, I love their entire product catalog!

While I own very few things from Modcloth because I have a hard time justifying a lot of their dress prices (someday, when I'm not horribly broke!), I still salivate wildly over their dresses almost every day. Their cuts and prints are all so cute and flattering and they are massively geek friendly, which is awesome.

Today I was challenged to style the Lead by Example dress, a cute dark blue number with a really cute neckline and great sheath skirt (gathered in all the right places to be flattering!). Unfortunately with my pear shape I don't think this dress would work on me, but it's so cute nonetheless!

The easy way to go with this dress would be to dress it up for a classy night out or for the 9 to 5, but as you guys know I don't LIKE to take the easy way out! I styled this dress for date night - with friends or your boyfriend - with a cute kitty inspired twist. Because who DOESN'T love cats?!

Would you guys wear this outfit?

Outfit #71: Floral and Stripes

Striped Top: Forever 21 (Similar) // Floral Skirt: Thrifted (Similar) // Shoes: Coltrane Knockoffs from eBay (Similar) // Jacket: Forever 21 (Similar) // Rings: eBay (Similar one two three four) // Necklace c/o My Charm Offensive

I have such an intense love affair with high waisted skirts (especially maxis!) and crop tops. It's such a perfect silhouette and SO flattering on my curves. I am so thrilled that the good parts of 90s fashion are coming back now - it makes me want to watch a lot of My So Called Life for inspiration! (And because My So Called Life is awesome, duh). I even ordered a tattoo choker today… ehehe!

My Sailor Moon tattoo is getting finished on Sunday!! I am SO excited that I can hardly stand it - I'm already in love with it and once the blue clouds are added in the background I may just pull my skin off and frame it as art. Maybe.

Also, how precious is this delicate "Geek" necklace from My Charm Offensive? She actually sent it to me to review AGES ago but it got stuck in the very back of my review drawer and I forgot about it, oh no!! I'm the worst blogger ever. But I found it the other day and "squeed" all over again. It's so wonderful! I want to wear it every day!

I went and saw Kyary Pamyu Pamyu last night and it was probably one of the top 100 experiences of my life thus far. She's perfect and hilarious and adorable and it was so much fun!! I loved seeing her mesmerizing dancing and looking at the audience's awesome outfits. I posted lots of pics on my instagram!

Happy Valentine's Day, my precious Peacocks! I hope you have a great day full of candy.
